My name is Suzie Dimmendaal, I am a professional Counsellor and Supervisor based in both Blenheim and Picton, Marlborough, NZ.
Qualifications
I am a Registered Comprehensive Nurse with a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Education (Otago), a Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (Otago), and a Master of Counselling Degree (Massey), Certified Havening Practitioner.
I have been a full member of the NZ Association of Counsellors (NZAC) since 2002 and I am a registered ACC Integrated Services Sensitive Claims (ISSC) Provider.


Background and Experience
I have been a professional Counsellor since 2002 and a Registered Comprehensive Nurse specialising in Public and Mental Health since 1990. I undertake regular professional development and Supervision to refresh my practice and ensure that I have an understanding of current evidence based modalities such as:

My Approach To Counselling
My approach is to build a trusting relationship where people feel safe to explore ways through the issues which affect them. Having worked with people from a range of backgrounds, genders and cultures my practice recognises the inherent dignity of each person.

I draw on an array of therapeutic approaches to meet individual needs, with a fundamental understanding that we have the ability to overcome adversity, create change, resilience and wellness at any point in our lives.
I have a thorough understanding of complex trauma and the process of recovery.
Fees & Payments
Fees
The per session rate for an individual is $120 (includes GST)
Sessions are for 50 minutes in person (face to face) or via video call (Skype, Zoom etc) or telephone.

Payment Options
Cash and internet payment are accepted. I am currently not able to offer eftpos or credit card payments.
Funding assistance can be sought from various community agencies, ACC and Work & Income NZ (Disability Allowance).
Cancellation Policy
24 hours’ notice is requested for cancellation otherwise a fee may apply.
